A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Cute small cafe with a friendly owner and the cutest and very happy Luwak. I initially didn’t want to try any Luwak coffee due to ethical reasons however I was definitely rest assured his 3 were well looked after and happy. Had the pleasure to meet the famous Mr Jick and fed him some banana - when I came in the morning he wasn’t there but the owner said to come by later. He still wasn’t there but he kindly went into his house and got him for me. He was so cute! Got to stroke him and he seemed calm. The location is great, right by the busy road for a fun, people watching view. Highly recommend for a unique, fun, and unforgettable experience. Also worth noting the Luwak coffee was brilliant thank you"
"We had a wonderful time here, having true luwak coffee in a small and cozy cafe. The owner was very kind and he brought Mr. Jick, the luwak, so we can meet him and he explained to us the process of the luwak coffee. Thank you and hope to see you again!"
"Warung Buana is a hidden gem for coffee lovers, offering not just a great cup of coffee but a truly unique experience. The coffee was excellent—rich, aromatic, and clearly crafted with care. But the real highlight? Meeting the barista behind it all: Mr. Jick, an 8-year-old civet and the true star of the show. If he’s in the mood, you can pet him, feed him, or even carry him. It’s a rare and delightful opportunity to get up close with the animal behind the famous Luwak coffee, making your visit both memorable and personal. Highly recommended for coffee entqhusiasts and curious travelers alike."
"Visited here to try the Luwak poop coffee as I’d heard & seen this place was really good for it. Very pleased I did. Coffee was fantastic. Service was great & you can see the guy really took pride in his work. Lovely atmosphere, nice and quiet and chilled."
"I visited this place with friends to try Luwak coffee. It’s a small, cozy spot. We liked that you can not only taste the coffee but also see the animal itself. The owner was friendly, and you can pay by card. Nothing too special, just a nice place to try the coffee and pet the animal. The coffee itself tasted pretty normal, with a slight acidity. It’s drinkable!"
"Warung Buana Coffee is such a hidden gem. Not only do they serve some of the best coffee in Ubud, but they also give you the chance to try the famous Luwak coffee right at the source. The flavor was smooth, rich, and truly unique — definitely worth experiencing at least once in Bali. What made the visit even more special was the opportunity to meet and pet a Luwak! The staff were so kind and knowledgeable, explaining the whole process of how Luwak coffee is made in a way that felt authentic and respectful to the animals."
"It’s a hidden gem in Ubud! I didn’t know the place before, but someone took me here. Definitely a cozy place to chill. It’s small place but fit and never crowded. We also can see the real Barista of LUWAK poop, which was Toddy Cat/House Musang/ Civet or you name it. In Indonesia we call Luwak, so that’s why the poop of it become Luwak Coffee. We can play and pet her even can feed when it’s time to eat. Very friendly Barista ! Also very sleepy lol. The price for the coffee is affordable and the taste of course very unique. I tried Cold Luwak Coffee. It looks like Americano but the test of course I prefer Luwak (taste a bit of acid). Also for those who wants to buy to bring home they also provide the package Luwak. Over all it’s worth place to visit in Ubud."
"Cozy spot meeting the friend love luwak in person thanks to the cafe owner and the keeper we are able to witness and touch gentle luwak , with his friendly doggy Lola. Also a beautiful stray doggy passed by sipping water from Bali intense hot weather. It’s a beautiful lovely compassionate scene here. We wish this cafe will continue its presence here with baby luwak enjoying his life and not in the caged up place that looks dirty n cruel out there just so u could taste their poo poo coffee , support him n his luwak family here!"
